My passion for writing is something that I never went looking for. It captured me as a school student, followed along throughout my academic journey and continues to pave my career path today.

After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in English studies in Malmö University (Sweden) in 2015, I worked as a journalist, English teacher, translator and copywriter on a full-time basis for 4 years. Then I moved to Germany and obtained a Master’s degree in English Linguistics in Heidelberg University in 2021.

It was during that time that I first imagined myself as a freelancer. Initially, I worked with private individuals to create over 400 CVs and motivation letters. But dozens of happy clients came back.

They took new career paths and started their own businesses, seeking my help in all-things copy. Thanks to them, the scope of my services organically expanded to press releases, blog articles, and web copy.

Seeing others trust my creative direction and skills to achieve their long-term goals was nothing short of empowering. Following my graduation, I leaned into it and embraced self-employment as a full-time gig.

This story beautifully ties into the name I chose for my business.

Lija is a part of my given name, but it also stands for Rain in Lithuanian.

It’s spontaneous, refreshing, and invigorating - just like the creative ideas that I weave into my writing.
